Bio

Janet is an emerging writer and poet. She writes historical and contemporary stories (short story and novel) which often include speculative fiction elements (mystery, sci-fi, fantasy and paranormal). Her work has been published in several editions of Painted Words, and her haiku has been published in, Blythe Spirit,  A Hundred Gourds, Paper Wasp and Windfall.

In 2013 & 2014 she placed 2nd and highly recommended respectively, in the international section of the Fujisan Haiku Competitions.

Janet holds a BA in Visual Arts (La Trobe University, Bendigo, 2015) and in 2017 completed a diploma in Professional Writing & Editing from Bendigo Kangan Institute (formerly Bendigo TAFE). Janet completed an additional subject, Writing for New Media in 2019 which focussed on content writing, copywriting, social media engagement, and transmedia storytelling.

Janet edits fiction and poetry at both structural and copyediting levels.
